Yes, and viewers do scan codes off screens. Keep it large enough to scan from a couch (roughly 1/8 of screen height) and don't overlay it on busy footage.
Does a QR code work printed on merch like a t-shirt or a sticker?
Stickers, laptop decals, pin badges and mousepads work well because the surface is flat and the contrast stays sharp. Fabric is unreliable: shirts stretch, wrinkle and curve around the body, and the code sits on a moving target, so scans fail more often than they land. If you do want it on apparel, print it large and flat on a tote or the back of a hoodie, use the SVG file, and keep dark modules on a light patch.
How big should I print the code?
Roughly a tenth of the scanning distance: about 2 x 2 cm for arm's length, bigger for anything read across a room. Leave a clear white margin and test-scan the proof before a print run.
