A parking QR code on a sign or post takes drivers straight to your payment page, permit registration, or lot instructions. Before you print it
If your parking code may ever need to point somewhere else, create it as a dynamic QR code you can edit after printing. The printed pattern never changes; only the destination behind it does. It also means you can track every scan by day, device, and location and see which placement actually worked.
Parking FAQ
How big should a parking sign QR code be?
Rule of thumb: scan distance ÷ 10. A code scanned from 2 m away should be at least 20 cm wide. Download SVG so it stays sharp at any size.
Will it scan in bad light or weather?
Use high contrast (black on white), matte lamination to cut glare, and place signs near lighting. The code itself has error correction that tolerates minor wear.
Can one code serve multiple lots?
It can, but per-lot codes are better: drivers land on the right zone's payment page and you get per-lot scan data.
Will the code still work in an underground garage with no signal?
The camera will read the code fine, but opening a payment page needs data, and that is true of any QR code, static or dynamic. In basements and steel structures, put the sign near the entrance or the stairwell where drivers still have bars, and print the short URL under the code so someone can pay once they are back above ground. If your lot has WiFi, name it on the sign next to the code.
