Is online giving secure through a QR code?
The code simply opens your existing giving page, so all security comes from your trusted giving provider.
How large should the code be when it is projected on the sanctuary screen?
Size it for the back row: a code reads from about ten times its own width, so someone fifteen metres away needs a code around 1.5 metres wide on screen. In practice that means giving the code most of the slide rather than tucking it in a corner. Leave it up for at least twenty seconds, since people need time to get their phone out.
Can older members who are not comfortable with phones still use it?
Any modern iPhone or Android camera scans a code without installing anything, so there is no app to explain. Still, print the plain web address underneath the code and keep the paper connect card available, because a code should be the fast path and not the only path. A short spoken instruction from the front the first few weeks does more than any signage.
What file formats can I download?
PNG for screens and SVG for print, on every plan including the free one. SVG stays sharp at any size, so it's the one to hand a printer.
