QR Codes for Car Dealerships

Let shoppers pull up full vehicle details straight from the windshield.

Buyers walking your lot after hours, or while a salesperson is busy, want specs, photos, and pricing right now. A QR code on each windshield sticker opens that vehicle's listing page, the full detail page with photos, history, and price, on the shopper's phone. Because the codes are dynamic, you can update a price or mark a unit sold without reprinting window stickers, and scan analytics show which vehicles draw the most interest so your team knows where the hot leads are.

Why use a dynamic QR code for this

Sell after hours

Shoppers scan a windshield and get the full listing even when the lot is closed or staff is busy.

Update pricing instantly

Drop a price or mark a car sold and the window sticker's code reflects it without a reprint.

Spot the hot units

Scan counts per vehicle reveal which cars draw the most interest so you can prioritize follow-up.

How to set it up

  1. 1

Link each code to the vehicle's detail page (VDP)

  2. 2

Generate dynamic QR codes with QRmkr

  3. 3

Print them on windshield stickers and lot signage

Before you print it

If your car dealerships code may ever need to point somewhere else, create it as a dynamic QR code you can edit after printing. The printed pattern never changes; only the destination behind it does. It also means you can track every scan by day, device, and location and see which placement actually worked.

Car dealerships FAQ

Can I update a price after printing the sticker?

Yes. Edit the linked listing anytime and the windshield code instantly shows the current price and status.

Can I see which cars get the most interest?

Yes. Each vehicle's code tracks scans, so you can see which units on the lot attract the most attention.

Do I need a separate code for every vehicle on the lot?

Yes, one dynamic code per VIN so each windshield sticker opens that car's own detail page. Our bulk generator takes a CSV of listing URLs and returns a ZIP of codes, which is how most lots handle a full inventory rather than making them one at a time. Pro has no cap on dynamic codes, so a large lot is not a pricing problem.

What happens to the code when the car sells and the sticker comes off?

Repoint that dynamic code at your general inventory page or a similar model, so any photo of the sticker still floating around leads somewhere useful. You can then reuse the code for the next unit if you prefer, since codes never expire. Just keep the account in good standing, because dynamic codes only redirect while it is.

Can I add my logo or brand colours?

Yes. Colours are free on every plan, and logo and branded codes are part of Pro. The design studio previews scannability as you edit so you can see when styling starts to hurt readability.
